Getting There

Getting there
Let’s plan ahead. Think about it – 10,000 cyclists will be making their way to Sydney on Sunday 5th November to start this awesome ride to Wollongong, so plan ahead to make this an easy and stress free experience for you. We highly recommend taking public transport or staying close to the start line. Take a look at all your options carefully.

We are excited to announce a new start location. The 2017 MS Sydney to the Gong bike ride will now start at Tempe Recreation Reserve!

This new start location is the largest start chute in MS Gong history. Our new start site for the long course is now 82km, but we promise it will still be the most epic and scenic ride you will do in 2017!  Riding through the Royal National Park past Waterfall to the Otford Lookout at Stanwell Tops, along the spectacular Sea Cliff Bridge, then along the coast through to a backdrop of sun, sand and surf in Wollongong. A remarkable ride that you will not forget.

Cycling to the start line

Staying somewhere close to the start site? Awesome you are well ahead of the pack! Make sure you leave enough time to have a leisurely ride to your start site. Remember it will be dark, so have your fluro gear, reflectors and lights ON to stay safe and check for the fastest route the night before.

Road trip! Carpooling is a great option to save on cost as well as time. You know it’s always much more enjoyable with your mates around. Parking will be limited on the day, and it is Sydney… so please allow extra time to find a park and make your way to the start line.

Interstate Travel

You are a legend! Make sure you book your flights in advance to save on any last minute jumps in fare prices and remember to speak to your airline about oversize baggage for your bike. Keep an eye on this page for details about accommodation packages with our partners to help save you $$.

What’s at the Start Site?
